The planned HVAC system with ground-canal works in the following manner:

Suction of the input air through the ground-canal => central station air handling unit => adiabatic cooling => pressure floor rack => room cooling => output air through regenerative heat recovery

The ground-canal with a length of 3 x 100 metres and a diameter of 1.7 metres is laying underground in a depth of 1.50 m. The ground-canal consists of a reinforced concrete pipe.

The input air flows through the ground-canal only, if there is a heat transfer from/to the soil. For the time periods where this is not the case, the input air is taken through a bypass to save electrical ventilation energy.
Technical data of the ground-canal: Length: 3 x 100 metres
Diameters: 1,7 metres
Maximum air flow: 100.000 m³/h
Total cooling rate per year: 75%
Total heating rate per year: 50% (without consideration of heat recovery)
