Tasks of IFV Materials Research Berlin/Brandenburg
 
  • To establish a promising research area to secure the materials-scientific foundations of solar energy production
  • To construct and expand a high-performance regional infrastructure for technology transfer, cooperation with businesses, and the promotion of the hiving off of companies
  • To contribute to the training and continuing education of young skilled workmen, engineers, and scientists in the area of renewable energy
  • To perform consulting activity in the area of technological development that increases the efficiency of solar cells and solar system components
  • To create jobs in the small and medium-sized businesses working in the Solar Materials working group
  • To provide infrastructural and economic structural aid to the business site Berlin/Brandenburg
  • To develop of data banks and use multi-media information systems to ease the implementation and distribution of R&D results and the transfer of technology

This entails:
  • Creating a data bank of research activities and results oriented toward industrial demand and needs in this area
  • Creating a data bank "job market” for vacant positions in R&D facilities and companies involved in solar energy
  • Providing access to fast electronic communications systems
  • Establishing an information and coordination office in the ISC
